Another one done :D

Another one done :D

Finally finished the last one in the 'set'! This guy is absurdly light, 6.5lbs!!

Pretty much the same old details but the pickups are a set of Manlius Landmarks I haggled out a trade for and I couldn't be more happy. They really sound fantastic!! Probably my favorite bridge pickup of any of my guitars so far. Color is RR Coral

Truly fine work! You should be VERY proud!

Thanks Tony!

I know firebirds with full sized buckers aren't "birds" but I'm really pleased with how this guy sounds.

Its nice having basically one to cover every situation!

It's one thing to build them that way & another to hack into a guitar & render it generic, IMO. I feel the same about LP Deluxes.
I love that color! It's Opaque, not metallic, right?

Yep, its a solid orange/salmon/coral color. Its supposed to be what "fiesta red" fades too... but I just love it!

I'm in TOTAL agreement with you about hacking up an original guitar / building one from the ground up with a specific pickup in mind. I feel exactly the same way

DougK I can't get over how gorgeous your birds are. Seriously, you're an artist. However, I think you're very cruel for posting photos of these lovlies and not giving us an oportunity to bid on them!

LOL thank you so much!

I'm actually making a few subtle tweaks to the headstock... enough to avoid being sued. If I like them then I am going to open 3-4 build spots in a couple months.

DO make it a subtle tweak...gotta keep the coolness! It doesn't have to be much. Look how close some come to Fenders! Come to think of it, didn'tthey lose the lawsuit about the headstock in the end?
