Duncan SM-3 and Vintage Vibe mini

Buy,sell & trade gear here.
PLEASE READ THE RULES FIRST!!!
Forum rules
1. While the first 30 members have been “grandfathered” in, future members must have 20 posts in sections other than the Fire Sale section before being able to post. These must be deemed REAL posts showing true participation! Please do not place gratuitous posts in order to be able to sell your wares. It is up to the judgment of this forum, as to whether you will be given selling privileges.
2. BUYER AND SELLER BEWARE! We are not responsible for any transactions on FPF. You should always approach purchases or trades with the caution that is merited when you don’t know the other person.

3. You are only allowed to post one ad per day. You are only allowed to have a total of two ads at any time.

4. To prevent “bumping wars” you are allowed one bump per calendar day, but not on the day you first place your ad. You may respond to questions asked of you by other members, but are expected to do so in one response to all questions asked. This counts as your “bump” for the day. If you do not follow this rule, you may be suspended from being able to post.

5. You MUST post a specific price for each item listed in an emporium, or must state exactly the gear you would be willing to trade for. If you do not do this, your thread may be deleted.

6. We don’t allow negative posts about a person’s prices or gear in the Emporiums. If you suspect that something is fraudulent, contact us.

7. We ONLY allow music gear items in ads. We do not allow sales of other kinds of items or offering to trade non-music gear items. Do not post items such as home audio equipment, cameras, CDs or DVDs, etc.

8. Dealer or hobby-for-profit for sale threads are allowed, WITHIN REASON. Don’t try to turn this into your “company forum” If you fall into this category, you need to clearly identify personal gear as such to avoid confusion.

9. We do not allow auctions or pseudo-auctions on any area of FPF. You may post a link to an Ebay auction, but must make sure that the title of the threads says “For Auction”; or “On Ebay”; or “FA:”.

10. We do not allow any item to be sold on FPF if it appears to infringe on the trademark of another company.

11. If an item is sold, PLEASE delete the ad. It's only common courtesy to remove an ad once an item has either sold or is no longer for sale. All threads on the emporiums are deleted after 30 days.

12. While we have no problem assisting with you selling your unwanted gear, please remember that gear sales is NOT the major function of this forum. Should this function get out of hand, the Fire Sale section will be eliminated. This IS a discussion forum, after all.

Duncan SM-3 and Vintage Vibe mini

Well I guess I'll be the first to jump on this!!!

I have a couple pickups I tried out but am real happy with my current pups so they go on the block!

First I've got a Duncan SM-3 "seymourized" mini humbucker that comes with both the original Duncan cover and an Antiquity cover.
It looks like this:

But has this cover included as well:

The SM-3 has real firebird pickup construction: ie, 2 rail magnets. I bought it with the antiquity cover already installed. It sounds great but didn't have enough output for the bridge position of my 'bird
$50 obo shipped in the USA.
----------------------------------------------

I also have a vintage vibe mini humbucker that was custom made for me. It is a real mini-humbucker but has 12 alnico pole pieces instead of a bar magnet inside. The idea was to get the tone of 2 strat pickups in series instead of the traditional mini-hb sound. It does have more clarity and chime than a normal humbucker which actually puts it in real firebird pickup tone land. The cover is just like a firebird (no poles exposed). The only downside is that I had this pickup made for an LP deluxe (it would have been in a mini-ring) so the mounting ears are not threaded. You'll have to put a nut (included) on the screws to mount it in a firebird ring. This shouldn't be a problem at all. It looks exactly like a new gibson firebird pickup.
$75 shipped in the USA.
-------------------------------------------------

Thanks!
-Dave

I don't mean to piss on your parade, but just for clarification the SD Vintage-style SM-1 also has the bar magnet construction like the old FB pickups. I only know because I change all the covers on mine, so they don't have that gaudy logo on them.
Good luck with the sale, nice price!
