Doug,
What kind of mini-hums & P90s do you use on your Birds?

I wish! I had to razor blade the paint that I had on it off before I could sand it again. grrr. They are both back to bare wood now though, starting over tomorrow.

My white bird has Kent Armstrong mini's which I really like. The 3 p90 one will get a set of Lollar 50's low output winds (sitting on my bench right now), the 3 bucker is still up in the air (probably ToneRiders) and the "jr" gets a Seymour Duncan p90 I have sitting around.

Yeah, the KA's are pretty nice, but I think the standard issue Duncan's are a little less sterile, or polite. They have a little growl like the vintage Gibson's IMHO. I have some Wilkinson's, which I've yet to try. You ever tried 'em?

Not yet, I've got a duncan I picked up from a buddy that Im going to try one of these days. I have to say though, I LOVE the way my bird sounds. Right now my rig is my Firebird + a Nick Greer "Burning Goat" into my '65 Bassman. I have a weekly gig and I've just become hooked on that setup.

The Limba one I want to build though will probably get 3 Lollars... or WB's if I could ever get Will to answer my emails.

I'll see IF I can get a hold of him or you AND me! I know he just moved his shop, but he should be getting back to people with at least a "I can't do anything now, but will get right back to you" message. He's a hell of anice guy & great winder, but communication has always been an issue.
As to the Duncan's, the only thing I hate is having to change the covers. I just can't deal with the ugly logo! It just screws up the look. I guess I AM a bit anal about Firebirds, hehe!

The one I picked up (second hand) was custom ordered with out the ugly logo!

Thanks for the heads up on Will, would LOVE to work something out with him!

Not to much at the moment. We had a BIG "guitar BBQ party jam" at my shop last weekend. Check my blog, LOTS of pictures.

The downer is we subleased a third of our shop (storage side) to the granite guys we recommend all the time. What really sucks is thats where I *was* spraying! The upside is I have an area worked out that I can build myself a spray booth (and not get in trouble with the Fire Dept/OSHA/permits ect) but Im probably 2-3 months out.

So right now, I've taken all the 'birds over to my father in law. He's been spraying in his garage and since he's retired he's got the time to do it!
