Is it just the camera angle...or maybe my eyes  , but are your birds thicker than Gibson's?

They are... sort of.

The center is the same thickness but Gibsons actually get thinner in the wings as you move away from the center. Mine are straight thickness. I played a few gibby's and the no taper wings seem to sit better (don't rock up as much) imo.

Just in case I DO get the cash to have you do 1 or 2 ;) , could you make them "regular" thickness, or would that be a major hassle? I like the look & the weight relief.

I don't really have a good way to do the taper. Well.. I sort of do, just haven't done it. They are only 1.25" thick at the wing tips, I think the lack of taper helps with the balance.

At the moment no... I'll do some thinking on it (its mostly how to jig the bodies onto my CNC)

Cool, thanks! it's all about the contours. To me it would be like not having the carving on the headstock. It keeps it from looking "blocky, like an Explorer, though I'm used to it there.
Thanks Again,

Its been 1 step forward, 3 back. I wasn't happy with how the finish was turning out so I've been out in the garage stripping 2 guitars the last few hours. grr.

(btw I measured, my birds are only .1 thicker at the wing tips than a stock gibby)

Just don't "abuse" the free buzz from the stripper. That sh#t can be brutal! Nasty headache too!
